Kathleen has been experimenting with Lion Brand Chenille yarns because they are lush. You can easily make beautiful fringe and tassels that look very expensive but cost a fraction of store bought chenille trims. Chenille Sensations is great for cut fringe and cut skirt tassels because it won't unravel when cut.

The picture on the left features 3 styles of fringe, using Lion Brand "Chenille Thick and Quick" and "Chenille Sensations" yarns.

The project specific instructions are below next to the pictures. You will need the Tassel Magic Instruction Booklet that comes with the Kit.

Looped Catapillar Fringe:

One skein will do a double row of looped fringe on an 18" pillow.

Mom used two rows of looped fringe stitched together.

Set your combs at the length you want your fringe and follow the Instructions, page 13, for "Looped Fringe" in the Tassel Magic Instructions. It's that easy!! You can stitch through both layers of the fringe onto the pillow at the same time!

Luscious & Thick Bullion Fringe

Mum combined 3 skeins of the yarn and wound it into 1 ball and used the 3 strands to make the bullion.

3 skeins combined is more than enough to trim a 20" pillow, at an average cost of $2.50 per skein. What a savings!! Chenille bullion fringe can cost up to $35.00 a yard for 6" fringe and you may not even be able to get the color you want.

Follow the basic bullion instructions in your Tassel Magic instruction booklet, page 2, only triple the yarn strands before twisting and winding.

Mum was walking through our local hardware store and found some Acrylic Kitchen String she though had a nice texture. She "coffee stained" it and made fringe for pennies!!!

So keep your eyes open next time your in your local hardware store!

Follow the instructions for Basic Bullion Fringe in your Tassel Magic Instructions, page 2, and get creative. Mum used 4 strands for this sample.

Cotton Kitchen string can also be dyed easily and makes great carpet trim. It, because it's cotton doesn't always hang smooth, so carpets are great!
